What we need:

As a member of our team you will possess knowledge of Asthma, COPD, and sleep apnea and provide comprehensive patient care and education. In this role, the successful candidate will support the efficient function of the Centre for Respiratory Health Clinic through initiation of prescribed CPAP therapy, performing assessments, educating patients in the use and knowledge of equipment/medications, and conducting follow-up to assess patient compliance and equipment performance. Maintaining workload, workflow and recording relevant statistics are key aspects of the clinic. A commitment for ongoing promotion of the clinic is required (i.e. increasing referrals and acquiring and maintaining educational material). In addition, you will develop and maintain relations with inpatient units.
You possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work independently as well as within a team and be flexible in meeting the needs of the clinic.

What you bring to the role:

    • Completion of a recognized Respiratory Therapy Program
    • Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists
    • A minimum of 1 year post-graduate experience in a hospital setting
    • Certified Respiratory Educator preferred
    • Current BCLS
    • Strong technical skills in Spirometry testing
    • Experience in pediatric respiratory assessment, Pulmonary Rehabilitation
    • Experience working effectively in a busy clinical environment
    • Smoking Cessation - TEACH Trained preferred
    • Evidence of continuing education and professional development
    • Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
    • Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.

Work Schedule:

The schedule includes Mondays to Saturdays, days, mainly 7.5 hour shifts but subject to change depending on clinic needs.

Compensation:

Band L: $38.23 - $46.62 per hour
