Our expectations

Reporting to the Manager, Transportation Intelligence & Analytics, the Analyst, Transportation Intelligence & Analytics - Western Canada is responsible for supporting the Transportation Optimization team in achieving its mandate of driving operational excellence and continuous performance improvement in Transportation across all regions and segments. The incumbent will contribute by implementing and monitoring KPI dashboards, analyzing current transportation processes, implementing best practices, and acting as a TMS super-user to drive business performance. They will support the Western Canada Inbound/Outbound Transportation client team. The incumbent will require strong analytical and process improvement skills, advanced proficiency in transportation management systems and their applications, and the ability to act as a change agent within the supported client team to deliver expected results in a rapidly changing, fast-paced matrix environment.

Your role
Develop transportation KPIs/metrics
Develop, compile, and distribute transportation performance scorecards
Analyze client team processes/performance, recommend solutions to drive operational performance improvements, and lead implementation
Support the deployment of transportation optimization initiatives impacting client team
Support the change readiness of the client team to adopt new standardized best-in-class business and operating processes
Provide support with budget planning, forecasts, and variance analyses
Assist with the RFP process and carrier negotiations
Coordinate and/or deliver training for processes, system transactions, and reporting
Develop and maintain relationships with service providers and review supplier scorecards
Seek continuous improvement opportunities for TMS and related applications
Work with the TMS development team to share best practices and develop new functionalities
Maintain and ensure accuracy of TMS data, business rules, and parameters

Job Requirements

The qualifications we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree in business management (operations, logistics, supply chain), engineering (industrial), or a related field (required)
1 to 3 years of progressive involvement in the areas of transportation, logistics, supply chain, or distribution
Experience in the retail industry, large-scale national distributor or transportation/logistics service provider (an asset)
Experience evolving in a context of transformational change (an asset)
Analytical and communication skills; demonstrated ability to deliver complex functional analyses, build financial supporting rational, and present recommendations to drive decision-making
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; proactive nature and a willingness to challenge existing processes and propose new solutions
Organization and rigour; track record of proving high-quality deliverables on time and under pressure as well as managing priorities accordingly in a face-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to use and/or learn technology solutions such as Transportation Management Systems (TMSs), routing optimization, network modelling, carrier sourcing, and business analytics tools
Demonstrated ability to collaborate in teams at all levels of the organization and across functions in a complex environment
Demonstrated ability to take ownership, lead peers, and quickly establish credibility across the organizationWritten and spoken English (required), Written and spoken French (an asset)
