Senior Consultant/Client Manager RFS DB Pension Administration

Summary of Duties

The incumbent works in a team environment to provide pension administration services to clients, maintains and develops client relationships, manages large client implementations and supervises the work of other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a team leader, overseeing work for analysts, senior analysts and associate consultants

  • Provides feedback to manager regarding performance of analysts, senior analysts and associate consultants

  • Assist is the development of client relationship skills for associate consultants

  • Attends/leads internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends

  • Participates in the development of employee communication material such as pension booklets and year end statements

  • Reviews complex calculations for terminations, retirements and death benefits completed by analysts, senior analysts and associate consultants

  • Prepares and reviews year end annual pension statements for large clients and ensures accuracy of such

  • Liaises with the actuary regarding membership and asset data for valuations

  • Reviews and sends monthly invoices to clients

  • Ensures that quality control and service standards are attained with every transaction

  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with clients, through regular telephone contact and office visits (where possible)

  • Understands the clients perspective and priorities, and works with the client to resolve administrative issues

  • Develops new business with existing clients and assists in obtaining new business with prospective clients

  • Participates/manages special projects as required

  • Acts as a resource to the entire DB Pension Administration practice

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of Pension Administration experience

  • Post-secondary education and related courses in Mathematics and Pension Administration

  • Bilingual (English a French)

  • Proven capability at the Associate Consultant/Consultant level, DB Pension Administration

  • Strong knowledge of all provincial pension and tax legislation

  • Exceptional customer focus with strong professional acumen

  • Excellent communication, project management, presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Strong leadership and team building skills

  • Highly organized, ability to take initiative and be independent

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to mentor and coach other team members.

  • A good understanding of personal computers and software, particularly MS Word and Excel

  • Experience with pension administration software
