The opportunity:

We are seeking talented and energetic candidates to join our Advisory team as a Senior Consultant working in our Operations practice in Ottawa.

What you will do

As a Senior Consultant, you will:

  • Understand client issues, develop hypotheses, conduct primary and secondary research and analysis, and develop valuable recommendations;
  • Rapidly become knowledgeable on the business concepts and issues which drive the client’s needs;
  • Analyze client data in order to advise clients on insights and business opportunities based on evidence;
  • Work collaboratively with client teams and help develop client capabilities; and
  • Contribute to all aspects of building a practice (e.g. business development, culture, community engagement, etc.)

What you bring to the role

You currently hold a Bachelor’s degree (or higher),  College Certificate in Business, Technology, Data Management or a related field from an accredited university or college, superior communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate with client stakeholders, work closely in a collaborative team environment to solve complex client issues, and lead teams and project deliverables. You are passionate about Data, have experience working with Data Warehouse technology in an ETL development role, engineering, consulting or other similar settings in the public and/or private sectors.

You are highly motivated and enthusiastic to take on a variety of business challenges and opportunities that require technology. You have developed strong problem solving and analytical abilities, as well as a proven track record of successfully dealing with competing priorities and deadlines under pressure. You are comfortable presenting ideas and solutions to both business and technology stakeholders. You have a strong sense of personal accountability and are focused on achieving your personal and career goals. You have an entrepreneurial drive, are a creative problem solver, eager to dive into the exciting world of consulting.

General Skills & Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates with Government of Canada secret clearance
  • Minimum 5 years of Business Analysis experience
  • 5 years of experience developing Information Technology solutions in areas such as: Private and Public Cloud, Application Modernization, Data Warehouse, Data Centre, IT Security
  • 3 to 5 years ETL Development and Data analysis experience
  • Confidence and demonstrable proficiency working with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Experience gathering and analyzing requirements for a cloud-based technical implementation based on architecture models such as:  Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
  • Experience evaluating existing procedures and methods, identifying and documenting items such as database content, structure, application subsystems
  • Experience developing user stories
  • Experience establishing acceptance test criteria
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly and articulately identify and define problems and develop creative solutions to address client requirements
  • Public Sector experience, either working directly in Government or in a professional services firm supporting Public Sector clients is an asset
  • Passion for technology and its ability to improve business processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven relationship development and project management skills
  • An affinity for teamwork and relationship-building
  • Preference will be given to candidates with ability to communicate effectively in both English and French (written and oral)

Other Technical Skills

These are not requirements, but preference may be given to candidates with demonstrated industry experience in supporting:

  • SAP, Oracle, Service Now or Salesforce enterprise systems implementation and support
    Enterprise Architecture business process modelling
  • IT Service Management and ITIL
  • Cyber Security
  • Professional certification in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement or Dynamics CRM
  • Scrum methodology awareness and previous work in an agile environment
  • System development lifecycle
