Description

The Divisional Manager, under the direction of the Director of Operations, will primarily be responsible to ensure all employees comply with applicable legislation, including safe operation, carriage of goods, drivers' hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, customs and immigration, and weights and dimensions. This role must have three years of experience in a management role and five years of experience in the transportation industry.

Job Duties

  • Ensure all employees comply with applicable legislation, including safe operation, carriage of goods, drivers' hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, customs and immigration, and weights and dimensions
  • Oversee staff to ensure work is being performed according to established standards
  • Coordinate employee training, ensuring that all applicable compliance requirements are met
  • Ensure the effectiveness of employees through strategic hiring, assignment of duties, discipline, and dismissal
  • Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
  • Ensure employees have clear goals and are aware of expectations
  • Develop strategic performance metrics and targets that are consistent with company goals
  • Ensure all reported vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to company vehicles is done so in accordance with company policy
  • Ensure the maintenance of vehicles is upheld
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records that are in compliance with legislative requirements
  • Handle customer complaints and comments
  • Other duties as assigned
