Junior Fire Alarm Inspector

What you will do

Johnson Controls invites you to apply for a full time employment located in Ottawa, ON. This position is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. Being a member of the Ontario JCI team will allow for an opportunity to contribute to a leader in the Fire, Life safety and HVAC industry. 

How you will do it:

  • Perform inspection/testing and maintenance activities on Fire Alarm, Sprinkler &Emergency Lighting Systems.
  • Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality inspections.
  • Assist lead technicians with day to day duties including reading and interpreting reports, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics and operational/product manuals.
  • Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing as well as troubleshoot problems.
  • General Field technician duties to assist the senior technicians with their daily tasks.
  • Other roles and responsibilities as identified by your manager/supervisor

What we look for

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School completion and/or Completion of a Fire Science or Electronics program at a Vocational College.
  • Canadian citizen or legal right to work in Canada with any employer
  • Ability to effectively work well independently and approve inspection paperwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferably pursuing a degree/diploma in fire protection or electrical based programs.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of electricity/electronics.
  • Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.
  • Ability to identify and sell basic product enhancements to customers.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of customer service.
