We are looking for motivated individuals to join the Forest Products team as aYard Supervisorfor Sproule Lumber, J.D. Irving, Limited in Truro, NS.

Location:

Truro, Nova Scotia offers outstanding four season outdoor recreational activities, including fishing, hunting, extensive all-season trail systems, skiing, and recreational centre with pool and arena. Qualifications:

  • Trade Certification, Bachelor's Degree, or Associate’s Degree

  • Previous operational management or supervision experience considered an asset

  • Proven track record of operational execution, problem solving, and meeting targets

  • Strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily communication with all site Supervision and Management

  • Working in a safe manner daily, with a keen eye to notice and report hazards within the work site.

  • Ensuring that yard operations occur in a safe manner with all environmental and management standards met daily

  • Coordinating roundwood deliveries and inventories with Woodlands Operations and Sawmill Operation

  • Direct supervision of loaders and operators working within the yard

  • Ensuring mill residual products are delivered to internal/external customers at required quality and timelines

  • Identifying opportunities for productivity improvement
