Manager, Sales Planning

The Manager - Sales Planning leads sales business planning and contributes to the development of sales strategy for the North American selling team. The role is the key link with the Marketing team to ensure the strategic/execution needs of the selling team and the customer landscape are recognized as brand and product plans are developed. Contributes to the development of channel strategy and pack price architecture. The role executes and tracks the deployment of Sales Playbook, Sales Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Category Leadership Plans. The position works with customer teams to successfully develop the Strategic Account Plans (SAP), and proactively identifies opportunities for ongoing business process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Business planning

  • Leads the sales input requirements for the integrated brand planning process.
  • Manages new product introduction timelines for the sales organization and oversees accurate set up in the PTP system.
  • Works with customer teams to execute the strategic account planning (SAP) process.
  • Acts as the key point of contact with Marketing to provide customer input into brand, private brand, and product plans and initiatives throughout the year.
  • Works cross-functionally to incorporate all relevant content into the sales playbook.
  • Oversees and tracks the execution of the sales playbook initiatives and KPIs.

Sales communication

  • Responsible for the development and deployment of the sales master activity calendar.
  • Responsible for timely distribution of sales materials and sales samples to support new item introductions.
  • Develops and manages new item launch trackers and other sales initiative trackers.
  • Contributes to execution of sales meetings
  • Executes ad hoc assignments as directed by the VP Sales Strategy

Sales strategy

  • Responsible for the initiative management of the Sales strategic plan as directed by the VP Sales strategy.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the channel strategy and customer segmentation model for the US and Canada.


  • University Degree required

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel

  • 3+ years of sales or sales or sales strategyin a business-to-business environment

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic

  • Market and category knowledge

  • Category and shopper journey

  • Strategic Planning

  • Effective Customer Management

  • 5P Management - in storey and online

  • Persuasive Selling
