Position Summary
We are looking for a confident Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) with a solid acute care nursing leadership background to join our team in at the Invermere District Hospital, B.C. This is a permanent full-time Registered Nurse DC2 position. Days of work are rotating and shift times are 07:00-16:30.

As the PCC for our Med/Surg unit you will be responsible for the coordination of day to day operations and quality patient care. This position supports the seamless movement of patients through the healthcare system and in accessing appropriate resources.

The PCC supervises as well as serves as a role model and a resource to staff for clinical decision-making, clinical assessments of patients and in the counseling and education of families. Reviews, analyses and makes recommendations on the development of administrative systems such as policies, procedures and standards of patient care, adequate staffing levels, and a continuous quality improvement environment. Liaises with the interdisciplinary team for identification, coordination and efficient utilization of resources as well as plans for staff educational needs.

The Invermere & District Hospital is located in the heart of Invermere on Lake Windermere and has 8 acute care beds (2 with heart monitors), 1 Labour & Delivery room, a cast room and 47 residential beds. There is also a 12 stretcher emergency department on site which is particularly busy during the winter ski season and summer vacation period

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area, three years of recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment and two years recent supervisory and teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current CPR certification required.
