Golden and District Hospital is building its Casual Operating Room pool of nurses and is inviting applications from perioperative certified Registered Nurses (RNs).
We operate 4 days a week within the Golden and District hospital and perform general surgeries, minor orthopedics, and endoscopy. We also provide 24/7 emergency cover for C-section particularly and so there is an on call component to this position. Being a rural hospital there is opportunity to pick up shifts in med/surgical, ED and maternity (following education and training) as well as Home Health, Public Health and Long Term Care if desired.
Casual employment means work requirements can vary between Zero and 37.5 hours per week. Casual employees receive 12.6% of their straight time pay, exclusive of all premiums, in lieu of scheduled vacations and statutory holidays. Upon completion of 180 hours, there is option of purchasing medical, dental and extended health benefit plans.

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area (perioperative nursing) and one year recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment on an operating room similar in size and scope to the facility or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
