Job Description

You cultivate an environment that promotes authentic best-in-class employee and customer experiences and are guided by our culture and our mission of shipping joy and knowledge.  Your role as Operations Manager is one of collaboration, innovation, inspiration, support, and coaching and in doing so, you help to create and sustain a high performing culture.  You are responsible for business requirements in terms of quality, delivery and cost and ensuring ongoing consistency across all shifts by identifying and communicating priorities. You consistently role model the Indigo Beliefs and are a leader that sets examples for others to follow.

  • Units per hour Fulfillment to department budget

  • Cartons per hour Outbound to department budget

  • Cost per unit to department budget

  • On time delivery to SLA

 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Functional

  • Driving consistency across the facility on all shifts (Process, Goals, SOPs, and Results)

  • Supporting and influencing by overseeing adherence to Health & Safety policies & procedures

  • Define and implement best in class processes across Fulfillment & Outbound

  • Use influence and industry knowledge to identify new opportunities for process improvements

  • Understands the impact to Indigo of changing external environmental factors (competitive, regulatory, technical, etc.)

  • Support the development and lead the implementation of the DC Management Strategy and continuous improvement efforts

  • Influence and support Team Managers and Team Leads to ensure all shift objectives are met

  • Ensure processes and reporting tools are in place to deliver daily and weekly targets provided by the DC Planning team

  • Stay current on innovations within Supply Chain DC practices

  • Ensure the completion of team deliverables and set/adhere to team budgets, as applicable

  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes

  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs

  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers

  • Challenge the status quo and consistently identify areas for improvement, diagnose issues and working to resolve them

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience / Education / Certifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a warehouse environment

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role, leading Leaders

  • University Degree (preferably in logistics /Supply chain / Business) or equivalent job experience

  • Analytical capabilities

  • Experience working in a fast paced, team based environment

  • Experience or knowledge of RF technology, an asset

  • Experience or knowledge of material handling equipment theory, an asset

  • Knowledge of general Health & Safety requirements

Competencies / Skills / Attributes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office ( high level Excel / Access knowledge )

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Data analysis

  • Strong Analytical skills 

  • Knowledge of WMS is required

  • Knowledge of SAP, EWM is an asset

  • Knowledge of Six sigma and Lean as an asset

  • Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a dynamic work environment

  • Ability to train, coach, and motivate Leaders and Team Members

  • Ability to apply a fair and consistent approach with all team members

  • Ability to identify best practices and process improvements

  • Must be willing to support teams that work across shifts

  • The position requires a well-organized individual with high energy, effective communication skills and, of course, a passion for this business and the principle upon which it is built

  • Available to work a flexible schedule in order to support various shifts
