About the Position:
As a Corporate Paralegal, your duties include:
- Preparing and filing corporate documents for BC and Federal entities, including annual reports and annual consent resolutions, incorporations/reorganizations, name changes, alterations, amalgamations, continuances, restorations, dissolutions, transparency registers and other related documents
- Assembling documents for BC societies and federal not-for-profit corporations
- Conducting records book reviews and preparing documents to correct records book deficiencies
- Preparing closing transaction documents, including assisting lawyers with the preparation of legal documents relating to all stages of complex corporate transactions and private mergers and acquisitions
- Handling filings with BC Registry and Corporations Canada
- Reviewing and updating corporate records
- Preparing corporate documentation for BC entities, including corporations, name changes, changes in directors and officers and other related tasks
- Maintaining corporate files and record books through ALF Corporate
- Manage client verification documentation
- Preparing and filing documentation for creation of and /or updating of partnerships, limited partnerships, business names and extra-provincial registrations
- Providing mentorship and support to junior staff
Requirements:
- Graduate from a recognized paralegal program
- At least 3 -5 years of recent experience working as a corporate paralegal
- Excellent technical skills (familiarity with ALF Corporate, Worldox, BC Online and Microsoft Office an asset)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Team player and also works well independently
- Excellent prioritization skills and works well with minimal supervision
- Strong ability to manage deadlines; and
- Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.
Compensation:
- Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 (based on experience)
- Vacation: 3-4 weeks
