REPORTS TO: Manager, Medicine
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $33.90 to $48.53 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
EXPERIENCE:
- Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Medicine nursing
- Recent/related courses, in-services in Medicine nursing
- Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Complex Continuing Care nursing
- Recent/related courses, in-services in Complex Continuing Care nursing
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to perform specialized skills related to Medicine and patient education.
- Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
- Knowledge of Senior Friendly Hospital initiatives and their application in the clinical setting
- Ability to engage patient and family partners in patient education related to the
- Medicine/Complex Continuing Care setting
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Ability to work independently and as a team member, with excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications
PREFERRED SKILLS:

- Fundamentals of Hospice “Palliative Care” Program
