Job Description: As a member of the Residential Services Team, this position is responsible for the coordination of the Mental Health Approved Home Program in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members and the Ministry of Health. The purpose of this position is to provide assessment of persons interested in accessing Mental Health Approved Homes, and the recruitment, education, and support of Mental Health Approved Home Operators. Under the supervision of the Assessor Coordinator - Degree - Senior and the Manager this position is responsible for assigning individual supports to persons living in mental health approved homes; providing consultation, referral, and conducting research related to the Mental Health Approved Home program.
Position Duties:
- Utilizes a team approach to provide screening and/or assessments to persons affected by mental
health and addictions concerns who are interested in accessing or who are currently living in a
Mental Health Approved Home. - Provides education and support to Mental Health Approved Home Operators regarding mental
health and addiction client needs and mental health and addiction services. - Supporting the licensing and re-licensing procedures for Mental Health Approved Homes in
accordance with The Mental Health Services Act and The Mental Health Services Regulations,
Regional Director, and the Government of Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Health.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of mental health and addictions issues and their effects on the individual, family, and
community. - Knowledge of the application of the Mental Health Services Act, Mental Health Approved Home
Program Operator’s Manual, and Health Information Protection Act. - Ability to conduct self in a safe and responsible manner as outlined in the Occupational Health
and Safety Act and reporting safety incidents as required for licensed Mental Health Approved
Homes. - Advanced decision-making skills.
- Advanced assessment skills.
- Basic interviewing skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Advanced communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to be flexible and willing to change.
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge in the SHA, community resources, and applicable programming.
- Ability to develop, evaluate, and modify programming provided to clients.
- Access to reliable vehicle to perform job duties.

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, addictions, nursing, or other relevant degree.
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Current registration or eligible for registration with appropriate licensing body.

- Practical Nursing diploma with 4 years experience is acceptable
