We are looking for a Sr Advisor, Investment Review to join our exciting team!

The Senior Advisor is responsible for providing financial, economic and risk analysis in support of the evaluation of domestic and foreign projects and business initiatives, including organic projects, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

What You Will Do:

The Sr Investment Review Advisor will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Develop comprehensive financial models for new projects, merger, acquisition, business development initiatives and divestiture opportunities, including:

  • Integrate financial statements including consolidation and accretion impacts.

  • Standardized valuation metrics to permit inter-project comparisons.

  • Identify and incorporate tax, financing, accounting and legal considerations

  • Review financial, economic and other key inputs provided by the operating divisions to ensure realistic and consistent assumptions.

  • Provide strategic alignment for business development initiatives.

  • Provide mentorship to Business Unit project development and corporate support (Tax, Treasury, Financial Risk, Credit, Corporate Controllers) teams on Investment Review practices and the capital allocation approval processes

  • Prepare post investment reviews of projects that compare the actual performance of investments versus commitment economics.

  • Prepare report for Capital Allocation Committee meetings and Investment Review Committee meetings, including the tracking and reporting of projects.

  • Coordinate the development and tracking of Risked Capital STIP targets and presents to senior management.

  • Leads projects and facilitate interaction with personnel across the organization and externally

Who You Are:

  • You possess an University Business degree or education from a nationally recognized program (MBA and/or CPA, CFA) and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of 7 years of proven experience in the energy sector or investment banking

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Outstanding financial modelling skills.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain working relationships throughout the organization and third party advisors, investment bankers, lawyers and tax experts;

  • Knowledge of regulatory, taxation and accounting issues considered an asset.

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal.
