ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Java Programmer Analyst for the Mission and Information Systems Department. This team backs up and secures digital documents and data and provides access to them through a constantly evolving online portal. It drives a series of development projects that maintains our pioneering position in the creation of virtual and digital resources.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Director of Mission and Information Systems, the selected candidate will serve as a subject matter expert and take charge of developing the entire back-end application, web services and some web application graphical user interfaces. Their expertise will lie in object-oriented Java programming.

  • Ensure your digital projects are properly planned and delivered
  • Provide expertise in systems analysis, design, testing and implementation
  • Act as a technical resource for the development and maintenance of systems in a Java environment
  • Evaluate the complexity of requests and projects and estimate the effort required to carry them out
  • Develop and maintain applications, websites and web services, including by programming and integrating components
  • Assist in the support and evolution of various systems (in-house, software packages, web services, open-source software)
  • Provide expertise in systems analysis, design, testing and implementation
  • Evaluate systems performance, analyze issues and defects and apply appropriate solutions

OUR REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent knowledge of the Java language and of the Spring and Hibernate application frameworks
  • Experience developing with C#, Python, PHP or Perl
  • Experience using and operating Lucene, Solr and Elasticsearch indexing and search platforms
  • Experience developing RESTful web services
  • Experience with tools such as Maven, Gradle, Ant, JUnit and SonarQube
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL and CouchDB
  • Knowledge of web servers (Apache) and applications (Tomcat or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery web development languages 
  • Interest in innovating, analyzing, developing and improving computer programs 
  • Ability to write documentation and technical specifications
  • Analytical and synthetic mind
