Within the Operational Excellence Group, The 5S Technician will support the research, evaluation, and implementation of improvements to the distribution, manufacturing and housekeeping processes throughout CMP. Responsibilities include providing vision and support for implantation of 5S and facilitating tactical Continuous Improvement efforts.
Roles and Responsibilities
Assess and identify 5S needs throughout the shop.
Partner with other key departments to develop and implement effective 5S strategies, training tools and resources.
Directly facilitate and participate in ongoing process improvements through the use of 5S techniques.
Work with various department stakeholders to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing program of change.
Establish metrics to monitor improvements.
Actively monitor project risk to foresee and identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions.
Complete post implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future projects.
Audit lines and hold them accountable to the 5S standard.
Ensure the facility is clean and organized at all times
Help design and implement production lines
A technical level degree in the manufacturing industry or equivalent work experience
Knowledge and understanding of 5S ideology
Ability to problem solve
Ability to identify needs, create a plan of action, implement, and sustain process improvements
Ability to train team members on 5S principles
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
Strong communication and leadership skills
Strong computer and Microsoft skills
AutoCAD, Solidwork an asset
Bilingual (French and English)
