We are hiring for 1 position in Hardisty and 2 positions in Lloydminster in this posting.

Hardisty:

The Hardisty Terminal Summer Student supports terminal operations by assisting with housekeeping and operational tasks as needed. The role involves a dynamic work environment that includes a mix of physical tasks, equipment interaction, and occasional travel. Key skills for success include collaboration, effective communication, and a strong focus on safety.

Lloydminster surrounding:
The field operation summer student focuses on pipeline operations, ensuring safe and efficient functionality through tasks such as vacation coverage, product quality checks, and equipment monitoring. The work is field based, requiring travel and a high level of safety awareness, with daily responsibilities including procedure adherence, operator rounds, and process safety management (PSM) entries.

Note: This is NOT a camp-based location. Successful candidates will be required to relocate.

What you’ll do

  • Provide technical support to field teams, including installing, calibrating, and repairing equipment or machinery.

  • Capture and record data from field operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Assist in identifying and resolving operational issues, suggesting improvements, and implementing standard processes.

  • Support Field / Terminal surveillance requirements as needed.

  • Support operations performed maintenance activities, maintenance contractors and vendors by communicating HMGP requirements, policies, and procedures.

  • Perform site inspections, complete area logs and records.

  • Immediately report any hazards, safety incidents, or near misses that occur to ensure a safe work environment.

Who you are

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)

  • Available to begin work in September 2026

  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) is considered an asset

Education

  • Must be enrolled in a Diploma or Undergraduate Program in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, Laboratory Technology, Environmental Science, Health and Safety at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term

  • Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered

  • New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.

Working Conditions

  • May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.

Safety Sensitive

  • This may be a safety-sensitive role, and you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours. Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.

  • Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle, applicants are asked to provide a recent (i.e., issued within the previous 4 weeks) original driver is abstract, for the preceding 5-year period, if offered the position. A valid Canadian class 5 Driver's License with no restrictions (i.e., non GDL) is a requirement for this role.
