Reporting to the Human Resources Advisor, the chosen candidate will work closely with the Human Resources, and Finance department

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform all administrative and support activities required by the HR and Finance Departments
  • Preparation and coordination of paperwork to support any Human Resources issues, including payroll changes and benefit changes
  • Organize staff functions, meetings, lunches etc
  • Process hourly payroll, weekly.
  • Act as main point of contact with supervisors and employees on all payroll inquiries
  • Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as pension plans, leaves, share savings, employment and medical insurance.
  • Employee training and development- assist with conducting and tracking all internal and external training
  • Coordinating annual training requirements
  • Supporting JHSC with any administrative needs
  • New employee onboarding, including orientation, training and onboarding documentation
  • Assist with Finance paperwork and data entry
  • All other general office duties required to support the business

Education & Experience

  • Preferred candidates have a Post Secondary Diploma in Administrative field
  • Completion of college or other courses in accounting, bookkeeping or payroll administration
    or Experience as an office administration technician or related work
  • Payroll experience and or working with an HRIS system/data system is an asset
  • Ultipro experience is an asset but not required

Technical competencies

  • Must be self-motivated, able to function autonomously, well organized, rigorous, resourceful and efficient under pressure;
  • Exemplary organization skills and the ability to prioritize/ manage multiple tasks;
  • Ability to collaborate with others and to be a member of a team, while being respectful of other team members;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of applicable labour laws and regulations including knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
  • Solid understanding of Human Resources best practices and principles
  • Computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint
