Senior Account Specialist, Commercial Banking

What your day will look like

Risk management: You will utilize your risk management skills to ensure appropriate measures are put into place and risk assessment protocols and structures are implemented, while balancing risk and reward in line with CWB’s risk appetite.

Credit Underwriting: As an experienced credit underwriter, you will partner with Senior Commercial Relationship Managers to support the branch strategy and client experience through effective and timely credit underwriting for new and existing borrowing clients with average loan volumes greater than $2MM. You will manage risks and day-to-day client relationships for medium to large commercial clients.

Creative problem solving: Acting as a go-to resource to provide solutions support for your colleagues’, and your own, portfolios.

Learning: Although you’ve developed a strong commercial foundation, you are always identifying trends and growing your knowledge on your next client or business area to achieve ultimate success and strong results from you and your team.

Partnership development: As a key resource for many business divisions, you will establish internal networks with different CWB groups.

  • Financially savvy. You’ve garnered commercial lending experience that has allowed you to plan, execute and manage risk on a portfolio of clients. You are experienced in the analysis of financial statements and evaluation of the fiscal viability of loan prospects.
  • Client focused. You have the right tools implement stewardship strategies and provide advice to exceed client expectations while maintaining positive relationships.
  • A strategic planner. You’ve heard it your whole life, but you’re a planner and a great one at that. Your innate eye for details and strategy allows you effectively multitask and meet set targets.
  • A trusted teammate. You are a trusted go-to and love to work collaboratively. You see the value in working together and have achieved many professional wins because of this mentality.
  • Think big and beyond. Although you pride yourself in being detail oriented and can see well into the weeds of problems, it is your knack for strategy and solutions that sets you apart from your peers.
  • Technologically proficient. You are adept at learning new software that you will use on a day to day basis.
Foundational knowledge and experience to grow with

A Bachelor’s Degree in commerce, finance or accounting subject areas and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in business banking, commercial lending, or related experience. You have a real passion for credit structuring, credit underwriting and risk management that runs through your veins. Your hard work ethic and credit writing acuity are the main attributes to your success and it’s your desire to succeed that makes you stand out amongst your colleagues
