Job Description

Corporate Security at CPP Investments develops and maintains a comprehensive and robust security, life safety and emergency response program to mitigate risks to our employees and assets. In support of this mandate, our group ensures the security of our global offices; tracks world events with potential to impact our employees; and responds in times of crisis, providing intelligence, relief and recovery to normal business operations.

We are looking for a Senior Advisor to join the CPPIB Corporate Security team during an exciting period of transformative change and growth.  Based in Toronto, you will report to the Manager, Corporate Security and, as a key member of the Corporate Security team, you will play a critical role in supporting the security posture of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) by coordinating and supporting critical aspects of CPPIB’s global security and life safety program and practices, with an emphasis on intelligence analysis.  

Role-specific Accountabilities:

  • Support the Corporate Security response to incidents worldwide, including natural disasters, acts of terrorism, civil unrest or criminal attack against the firm which affects employees and/or global offices in order to limit loss and mitigate risk.
  • Provide actionable information by compiling, analyzing, synthesizing, and disseminating concise strategic and current analysis and warning products in written and presentation form to key CPPIB stakeholders.
  • Maintain and develop subject matter expertise in a portfolio of threat profiles, activity, and trends that impact CPPIB, its assets and employees from all available sources (open source, internal databases, deep/dark web searches, etc…).
  • Monitoring geopolitical events of concern that could impact CPPIB operations, investments, international travel and/or corporate events, and provide periodic and timely reporting
  • Engaging in and maintaining relationships with internal departments throughout CPPIB as well as external company and industry professionals.
  • Additional duties may be assigned, and functions may be modified according to business necessity.


  • Must have at least a Bachelors degree and 10 years of experience and/or Master’s degree and 7 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of corporate security, law enforcement, and/or intelligence community experience.
  • Ability to deliver high quality reporting on complex issues identified in a high-tempo environment.
