Job Description

The Risk Analytics team’s primary responsibilities include: 1) engineering and implementing risk systems and solutions; 2) monitoring risk limits and providing risk insights; 3) authoring management reports to senior executive committees and to the Board; and 4)  developing capabilities to oversee emerging risks such as Climate Change Risk.

Within Risk Analytics the Risk Engineering team has a mandate to enable Investment Risk with the tools and data required to efficiently identify and monitor the risks of the fund according to the Integrated Risk Framework.

In Risk Engineering we understand Risk, we are passionate about technology and we bring the two together to deliver efficient solutions in a timely fashion. We partner with Technology and Data (T&D) to build a robust and rich infrastructure to support Investment Risk. We pioneer new functionality by developing prototypes to demonstrate results and prove value. We promote automation of repetitive tasks and we autonomously seek opportunities to introduce enhancements.

Examples of what the team has been busy with recently include:

  • Prototyping solutions to calculate and report on risk measures
  • Automating daily reporting by building microservices to deliver data to BI tools
  • Defining requirements for all enhancements to Risk systems maintained by T&D
  • Supporting Investment Risk in data collection and aggregation

We’re looking for a experienced professional who enjoys working with people, has hands-on knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python, R, Java) and data, and likes to collaborate with others to solve challenging problems with technology in the Investment Risk domain.

In this role you will

  • Join all functions of Investment Risk to understand business priorities and requirements
  • Design and deliver risk analytics solutions autonomously or in partnership with T&D
  • Partner with groups across the organization to achieve ambitious results
  • Learn new skills, look for creative solutions, seek the best outcome for the Fund

Qualifications

In choosing the right candidate we’ll consider

  • Demonstrated attitude for continuous improvement and efficient solutions
  • Familiarity with Investment Risk concepts, measures and models
  • Previous experience - professional or otherwise - with data and task automation
  • Working knowledge of Python, Excel/VBA, Databases, Cloud technologies, Business Intelligence
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to many different audiences
  • Relevant university degree(s) (technology, economics, finance, science) and professional designations (CFA, FRM, CAIA)
