Job Description

The Investment Operations department works closely with the Investment team and other business partners to deliver transactional, operational and accounting support, as well deliver assistance with financial reporting, analytics and valuations.

This role is primarily accountable for the ongoing day to day evaluation, accounting and monitoring of the Credit Investments portfolio. 

Role-Specific Accountabilities

  • Partner with colleagues from the Investment Departments, Structuring, Tax and Treasury to assist in investment closings through documentation review, system setups, transaction entries and settlements. 
  • Manage investment maintenance and servicing; ensure investments are accurately represented at all times, track upcoming activity, reconcile records and process activities. 
  • Assist in processing complex investments with the ability to understand impact on accounting, reporting and performance.
  • Assist in the quarterly/ monthly valuation review; ensure valuation adjustments are accurately recorded and bring any errors/ inconsistencies to Associate/ Manager’s attention. Provide insightful valuation analysis.
  • Identify and promptly escalate irregular activities or issues and assist the Manager in determining corrective action.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures.
  • Continually strive for operational excellence; seek ways to streamline processes and create operational efficiencies. Maintain an ongoing effective working relationship with internal investment staff and external asset managers to ensure issues are discussed and resolved, financial controls and reporting requirements are met.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.


  • Undergraduate Degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics or other related discipline.
  • Professional designations such as a CBV, CFA, CPA are considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience.
  • Strong analytical, financial and management accounting skills will be necessary to perform this role
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfortable learning new systems.
  • Team player who enjoys working in a high performing culture and is open to evolving and changing priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement; specifically, ability to identify gaps across current processes and systems and how these can be standardized and scaled.
  • Exceptional time management and project prioritization skills. Ability to work under time sensitive deadlines and adjust to urgent situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a high performing culture, self-motivated, open to and comfortable with evolving changes and new challenges.
