Position summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of Business Applications, the Dynamics Architect and Development Lead will play a key role in designing, developing and implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and Power Platform solutions. This role involves collaborating with business units, project managers and developers to build scalable, high-performance solutions that align with business objectives. The incumbent will lead a team of developers, ensuring best practices are followed while optimizing system performance and security.

Responsibilities

Solution architecture and development

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Dynamics Developers and business stakeholders, to define and design architectural solutions that align with business objectives, ensuring security, availability and scalability
• Leverage Dynamics 365 and Power Platform to build, integrate and maintain business solutions within the organization’s technology environments
• Support existing software within the organization’s technology environment, such as Scribe, ClickDimensions and DocuSign
• Work with business and IT stakeholders to gather and document technical and security requirements
• Establish standards and guidelines for, source code management and documentation (e.g., DevOps) and other areas to ensure consistent, high-quality solution delivery.

System performance and maintenance

• Oversee integration of third-party applications and systems to ensure compatibility and compliance with organizational standards
• Manage, investigate and resolve issues to maintain system stability, availability and performance
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, security guidelines and internal standards
• Ensure infrastructure remains secure, scalable and capable of supporting evolving business needs.
• Lead developer team, offering direction, guidance, support and training
• Collaborate with Dynamics Developers and Business Analysts to define and test user functionality and business requirements
• Facilitate and lead technical discussions with internal stakeholders, providing strategic guidance on emerging technologies
• Oversee testing processes, including defining testing requirements, developing test scenarios and validating user needs.

Strategic planning and governance

• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements to recommend on adopting new technology
• Estimate costs related to solution development and maintenance, including software licensing, infrastructure and resources.
o Provide guidance on the optimization of these elements to best fulfill the project’s objectives within determined parameters.
• Ensure compliance with security frameworks (e.g., DevSecOps) and IT service management best practices (e.g., ITIL).

Qualifications

• Postsecondary education, preferably in Information Systems (or equivalent)
• Minimum of five years in software development
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform and related development frameworks
• Strong knowledge of solution architecture, development methodologies and security best practices
• Experience leading technical teams and managing development projects
• Excellent communication skills (written and orally) in English
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to engage with business and technology teams, and to mentor and direct developers effectively.

Assets

• Knowledge of secure development practices (i.e., DevSecOps)
• Industry certifications, including Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Customer Service Functional Consultant Associate, Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate, or other relevant certifications
• Ability to communicate (written and orally) in French.

Total Compensation:

The CFI offers a competitive compensation package that includes employee benefits and participation in the Sun Life Financial pension plan, four weeks of paid vacation leave as well as personal days and access to the Wellness Fund that covers health and wellbeing items for you and your family.

This is a full-time position in a hybrid work environment, requiring a minimum of two days per week at the CFI offices.
