Buffalo Trail Public Schools is committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment supported by a highly effective team.

Buffalo Trail Public Schools requires full-time probationary teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The teaching assignment will include Inclusive Learning and ELA 10-1 and additional duties as assigned by the principal.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Shall be a dynamic student-centered educator committed to maximizing learning in a safe and caring environment

Experience and/or training in the application of Assessment for Learning strategies, embedded formative assessment, and varied summative assessments is essential

Possess a strong background in the use of technology to enhance student learning

Ability to create a positive learning environment and foster positive professional relationships with students

Is dependable with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in a team setting

Demonstrates a strong commitment to professional growth and continually increasing their effectiveness as an educator

A willingness to participate in extracurricular activities would be considered an asset

Training and/or experience as an inclusive learning teacher

Experience leading or mentoring colleagues

Experience teaching high school ELA (English Language Arts)

Wainwright Jr/Sr High School is an active and vibrant Alberta school that is home to approximately 315 students from Grade 7-12 .We offer a variety of educational programming, including several academic streams. Students are also encouraged to access our wide range of option courses including Industrial Arts, Foods, Fine Arts, Athletics and Off-Campus opportunities.

Wainwright is a town situated in East Central Alberta on Highway 14, approxximately 2 hours east of Edmonton. The region's major industries include oilfield and agriculture. The area is also home to CFB Wainwright, a Canadian Armed Forces military base.
