Description

We are currently seeking a Shift Lead on our evening shift in our Woodstock NB shop. In this position the incumbent will be responsible to organized and  prioritize work assignments for a team of 4, handle the distribution of parts and verify completed work orders, answer calls regarding repair issues for drivers on the road, as well as inspect, diagnose, repair, and service the components of commercial transport vehicles.

Main Duties:

  • Complete yard check and verify job priority
  • Assign work to team members based on level of repair and mechanical skill
  • Verify work orders are correct and showing parts used
  • Provide guidance to drivers on the road who have mechanical issues
  • Follow up with team to ensure work is complete and timely
  • Adjust, repair or replace vehicle components such as fuel, brake, steering, suspension, transmissions, axles, exhaust, electronic and electrical systems but are not limited to the noted specifications
  • Use hand tools, specialized equipment, air and power tools to assist in job completion
  • Test and adjust repaired systems
  • Perform maintenance; scheduled, routine and emergency
  • Advise equipment operators and drivers of work performed, conditions and future requirements
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confer with supervisor
  • Test and adjust units to specifications for proper performance
  • Make complete reports and records of work performed and problems encountered

Education or Employment Requirements:

  • Experience leading a shift is an asset
  • Completion of a four-year truck and transport mechanic, Red Seal Journeyman License, or registered in recognized truck-trailer repair apprenticeship block program
  • Physical abilities include heavy lifting, tight spaces, and other strenuous activities
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English and communicate well with coworkers, drivers, and management.

Shift schedule: Monday - Friday - 6pm to 230am
