Innisfail Continuing Care is a 78 bed unit, located in a rural setting where Registered Nurses (RNs) work within an interdisciplinary team environment to provide client centered care. The RN/RPN will be required to provide leadership including direction, supervision, mentoring, constructive feedback and client care coordination to other professionals and unregulated staff. In this case coordination role the RN/RPN must have the ability to use critical thinking skills to plan, assess, implement and evaluate client centered care. This environment is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest and skills in providing care to the Medically Complex and elderly client, including those diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease or other dementias. Recent gerontology nursing experience and /or education, charge nurse, and leadership training is an asset. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current CARNA or CRPNA registration. Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required. Basic computer skills. Good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Demonstrated problem solving skills. Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities. The ability to work shift work and to care for Medically Complex clients. The ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
