Description
We are seeking a motivated Recreation Therapist II to join the team at J.B. Wood Continuing Care Centre in High Prairie. As a Recreation Therapist II, you will take a leadership role in ensuring that the level of therapeutic recreation practice in your clinical area is evidence based, patient-and family-centred and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice. You will provide clinical leadership to ensure safe and efficient care as well as coordinate the assessment, treatment, education and care of the patient (client, resident). You will participate in program development to ensure effective delivery of services, including the development of protocols, forms, education, and quality improvement initiatives. You will complete assessment, treatment, education and management of clients¿ treatment progress and provide clinical support and consultation. You will collaborate and communicate with the health care team and participate in patient rounds, family conferences and meetings as related to the client and family.
Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration for Professional Membership with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA). Minimum three years' related clinical experience as a Recreation Therapist.
Baccalaureate in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies or meets the criteria for a professional membership with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association. Active member of the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association. Current BCLS-HCP (CPR) certification.
Valid Class 4 Drivers License to drive Recreation bus is preferred. The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Class 4 license in the first three months of hire.
