Description
The successful Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will support an integrated intensive rehabilitation care plan for patients on unit 4C at the Glenrose Hospital. The successful LPN works to full scope and assists with implementing nursing care plans that maximize our patient's functional independence and support the medical management of a diverse older adult population. The LPN must be able to effectively communicate and interact with an interprofessional care team. The successful candidate must be confident to practice to full scope and be physically able to stand for long periods of time and assist patients with ADL's, compression stocking application, transferring and toileting assistance.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Previous experience in an acute care setting, or LPN responsibilities in LTC/subacute/palliative setting, experience working with medically complex patients.
Connect Care training and fluency. PICC/IV therapy experience.
