The HCA Supervisor ensures clients receive evidence-based care from competent HCAs and that care is planned & delivered consistently according to the AHS policies, procedures & Continuing Care Health Services Standards. Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager, the HCA Supervisor has several key responsibilities: Staff supervision, mentorship & leadership. Client care coordination. Health Care Aid (HCA) education & competency tracking. Stakeholder relationship & community partnership. Provision of professional nursing services to clients in the clinic & community setting. The HCA Supervisor must demonstrate their ability to: Implement & review practice standards, scheduling, clinical support & evaluation of staff. Demonstrate skills in problem solving, mentoring, interpersonal relationships, & organizational leadership. Implement changes in structure, processes, & procedures to achieve client outcomes & resource utilization. Organize & support services to Home Care clients. Safeguard AHS information as private & confidential. Reliable, dependable & punctual. Cultural Alignment: Demonstrates understanding of the AHS Code of Conduct and Sharing a Vision of Excellence & actively promotes it through every action taken, & every decision made. Supports a culture that fosters high standards of excellence, professionalism & ethics. Behave in a fair, ethical & respectful manner. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works within the full scope of practice, monitors, reports, & documents changes in the client's status, & provides the client & family with relevant information & teaching. Travel across Edmonton Zone will be required. This position will be based out of the Leduc Home Care office but may provide support to Suburban/Rural East team or other home care networks as required.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Minimum 2 years leadership experience required Experience, Skills and Competencies: Excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task. Effective time-management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Able to problem solve effectively and in a timely manner when dealing with challenging and/or confrontational situations. Conflict management skills. Relevant Home Living orientation courses for Nurses. McMaster Case Management Training.
