We are looking for a self-motivated, focused, productive and well-organized individual wanting to be part of an information-as-an-asset Analytics and BI program. The ideal candidate aspires to manage data for the purposes of BI and analytics, as well as progressing their data management skills in a broad variety of initiatives aimed at informational value. The ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) Developer is responsible for acquiring, managing, and maintaining data. The position develops ETL and data integration processes including defining source and target and creating mappings, sessions, and workflows for operations and projects. The role is responsible for accessing and integrating multiple disparate data sources using data integration and modeling tools to design, model, estimate, plan, map, connect, integrate and cleanse data for analysis and reporting. This developer can define, produce, receive, test, and stage data extracts according to diverse requirements. The incumbent ensures continuous improvement, enhancement, and support of data warehouse and BI environments. The position utilizes agile development and project management methodology, applies change management, writes technical documentation, and works closely with BI developers and analysts, subject matter experts, and IT colleagues with an information outcomes focus. This position is located in Calgary; Edmonton locations will be considered.Description:
As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience - 3 to 5 years applying progressive knowledge and experience in data warehousing and business intelligence, commensurate professional development in data integration, and continuous professional training in industry best practices, tools, and methodologies. Technical skills - proficient with multiple data integration tools using Informatica PowerCenter, Visual Studio/SSIS etc. with related competencies in metadata management and data quality using Data Quality Services; advanced SQL programming and SSMS skills; able to work in UNIX/Linux and Windows; proficient data and information architecture skills including relational and dimensional data modeling using Visio, PowerDesigner, Toad etc.; and experience mapping and connecting multiple high volume disparate data sources across mixed environments and platforms into common data structures. Analytical skills -able to deconstruct multiple complex data structures and processes and innovate data solutions using Scrum, DevOps, and BusOps development methods; experience performing system and data analysis; and experience understanding business requirements and translating into technical implementations. Communication skills - well understood oral and written communication skills with proven ability to estimate, plan, and interact in a team environment; able to write technical documentation and diagram workflows; and able to articulate issues and solutions and engage and collaborate to achieve consensus with others.
Prefer certification in ITIL Foundations, relevant tool-based training tied to hands-on experience, and skills in machine learning using Python, data virtualization using PolyBase, and cloud-based tasks using Azure.
