The Québec Port Authority (QPA), an autonomous organization with shared governance, pursues its mission to develop maritime trade and thus contribute to the economic development of the Québec City region and of Canada as a whole. Reporting to the Director, Information Technology and Telecommunications, the incumbent is mainly responsible for the maintenance and development of applications using the Oracle database and Forms / Reports tools. He/she will assume the following main responsibilities:
Meets with users to define their needs;
Carries out the preliminary and functional analysis based on the identified needs;
Carries out the technical realization (realization plan, programming, tests, implementation, etc.);
Integrates the developed applications with the system already in place if necessary;
Develops system documentation;
Prepares and provide training to users on the applications that are put into production;
Ensures the maintenance of existing programs;
Converts Forms applications to Apex as needed;
Caries out any other related tasks.
Note that the proportion of analysis is about 35% and the proportion of programming is about 65%. However, the position could evolve according to the needs of the organization.
DEC in computer science or information technology or equivalent;
Minimum 1 year experience with Oracle Forms and Reports;
Good writing skills;
Good understanding of written English (intermediate level);
Ability to manage priorities;
Good analytical and synthesis skills;
Logical and practical organizational skills;
Flexibility and availability;
Ability to work in a team;
Due to the nature of all access granted to the incumbent, this position requires an absolute level of confidentiality.
Experience with Apex tools;
Knowledge of DBA basics and Microsoft development tools (PL/SQL Server, .NET, etc.).
A combination of education and/or relevant experience may be considered equivalent.
