UUnder the supervision of the center director, the nurse, in accordance with the law, assumes responsibility for a set of nursing care and collaborates in the administration of therapeutic, preventive, diagnostic and research procedures.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
As part of her duties, the nurse :
Ensures that the policies and procedures in effect in the organization are respected and that the quality of care provided and the safety and well-being of the residents are always at the forefront in all the tasks that he/she performs, the actions that he/she takes and the documents that he/she prepares.
Ensures that the quality of care provided is adequate and in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
Ensures that all his/her tasks and actions are directed towards the safety and well-being of the residents.
Promote infection control ;
Provide training to users and staff;
Open user files in collaboration with the pharmacy;
Proceed with the ordering of medications;
Follow up on prescriptions;
Distribution and management of drugs to users;
Carry out nursing procedures such as blood tests, vaccination, wound care, urine tests, etc.);
Write adequate and necessary notes in the users' file;
Make physical and psychological medical appointments for users;
Know how to evaluate emergencies and establish priorities;
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings;
Ensure that procedures and protocols are implemented and respected;
Ensure the implementation and respect of procedures and protocols; Ensure the physical and psychiatric medical follow-up of residents.
Performs all other related tasks at the request of his/her immediate supervisor.
College diploma in nursing or a diploma from a nursing school recognized by the College of Nurses of New Brunswick ;
Be a member in good standing of the College of Nurses of New Brunswick ;
Interest in clients with substance abuse problems;
Ability to set priorities in the organization of one's time;
Ability to work in a team and to establish interpersonal relationships;
Ability to communicate verbally;
Ability to live in a climate of intense emotionality: sharing daily life and living in an intensive internship with the user
