Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director General, the position entails full responsibility for the administration of all programs and activities pertaining to the management of all pedagogical programs of the school board.
Assumes responsibility of the preparation, development, implementation and application of instructional programs, means, approaches and teaching methods.
Leads the activities related to the development, implementation and update of the Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum.
Oversees the departments of Cree Programs, Student Services, Instructional Services, Special Education and Professional Development.
Participates in defining and developing the vision, organizational values, strategies, objectives and priorities.
Participates in the development and update of policies and by-laws and ensures that they are applied.
Collaborates with staff members in preparing staffing plans and in allocating the budget.
Represents the school board in educational matters.
Formulates recommendations concerning staffing plans.
Participates in staff selection.
Determines the duties of staff and ensures supervision and evaluation.
Ensures that all information related to Education Services is properly communicated throughout the Board.
Prepares, administers and monitors the budget.
Ensures that information resources are developed, applied and updated.
Assumes any other responsibility compatible with his function.

Annual salary: $74,873 to $99,831
Northern Allowance: $7,666. - $12,263.
Retention Premium: $3,500. - $5,000.
Undergraduate university degree in a relevant field of study, notably in education.
A personal and permanent Quebec teaching permit issued by the Minister of Education (Brevet d’enseignement).
Eight years pertinent experience.
Must be bilingual (English and French).
Knowledge of the Cree language is a determining asset.
Must be willing to travel.
