Job Summary

Bring your specialized labour relations expertise to this rewarding senior level role

The Senior Labour Relations Specialist, under the direction of the Director of Labour Relations, represents the government on employment related matters involving bargaining unit employees and disputes under the collective agreements, and related employment legislation and regulations. This expertise will carry forward to collective bargaining support.

This position is required to maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant jurisprudence, administrative tribunal processes, legislation, regulations, and recommend changes in collective agreements, policies, procedures, legislation and regulations.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of recent labour relations experience in a unionized environment; OR, 4 years of recent experience as a human resources practitioner that includes significant labour relations experience; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in writing correspondence for management regarding complex matters.
  • Experience in negotiations with Union representatives.


Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience in collective bargaining or as a support to bargaining.
  • Experience representing the Employer before arbitration and/or administrative tribunals.


Proviso

  • Willingness to travel overnight.
