Responsibilities:
  • Manage the integrated Project Control team including Planning, Estimating, Cost Engineering, Cost Control and Document Control during all phases of the project;
  • Ensure that the project procedures and instructions are developed and maintained and that best practices in project cost and schedule control are applied;
  • Oversee the implementation of the Project management system PM+ with its various modules for project control;
  • Issue the project monthly progress report and other key management reports;
  • Close interface with client, project management and other project functional groups;
  • Participate in the project scope and change management process and ensure timely completion and issuance of Project Change Notices by the project controls team;
  • Implement tracking and monitoring systems for progress reporting and earned value;
  • Work with Project Control leads to ensure that project control systems are fully implemented to meet project needs and reporting requirements;
  • Interface with Procurement Manager, Area Managers and Construction Managers to ensure that information is adequate and timely;
  • Interface with Project Manager regarding any potential baseline variances on schedule and cost, trends and cash flow;
  • Participate in mitigation planning where appropriate and assist in finding best solutions;
  • Interface with Corporate Teams for project follow-up and reporting.

Requirements

Level of education: University
Diploma : Bachelor's Degree
Work experience (years) : 10 years and more
Written French : Good knowledge
Spoken French : Good knowledge
Written English : Excellent knowledge
Spoken English : Good knowledge
Other spoken languages : un atout
Other written languages : un atout

Requested skills

Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience in planning and scheduling and Cost Control, or an equivalent combination of education and experience of large scale projects;
  • Experience in the aluminum, oil and gas and/ or mining industries an asset;
  • Membership in professional associations such as AACE International and/or PMI;
  • Experience as a Team Leader in both Planning and Cost Control of major projects;
  • Knowledge of Primavera Planning software;
  • Knowledge of Cost Control and project accounting software;
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written); French and/or other language also an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with peers, management, subcontractors / suppliers
  • Leadership skills, team spirit and a great capacity for finding solutions to work-related problems.
