Description
Reporting to the Vice-President of SLE Quebec and Maritimes, the ideal candidate will be responsible for directing the activities of the Department of Social Studies and Sustainability and ensuring good operational outcomes within the department. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relations with both current and potential clients.

- Identify and evaluate the socioeconomic impact of the projects;
- Establish various social action plans aiming at reducing project impacts (community development plan, new entrant management plan, cultural heritage management plan, workforce management plan, health and safety management plan, community claims management plan, etc);
- Act as a coach for his team to support their professional development;
- Manage social studies projects as well proposals;
- Manage departmental budgets;
- In charge of the management, administration and supervision of the personnel;
- Develop and maintain good client relations;
- Develop and implement business plans;
- Participate in the company’s sustainable development program.

- Master’s degree or PhD in Sociology, Anthropology, Human Geography, or any other related discipline;
- Minimum 20 years of pertinent experience in social studies, including 5 years in a managerial role;
- Proficient with “request for proposal” and management methods;
- With a particular interest in management and continual improvement;
- Excellent oral and written skills in both English and French;
- International experiences (Africa, Asia and/or South America).
