Community involvement
PharmaNet strives to operate as a responsible corporate citizen of the global community. Management believes that socially responsible behavior provides long term value to our clients, employees, shareholders and the communities in which we live and work and is necessary for both business sustainability and growth.
Corporate Giving Program
PharmaNet Development Group, Inc. believes it is important to contribute to the global community through charitable giving and civic activities that support the Company’s mission and values. Clarification of its giving policy provides transparency to the process by which grants, programs, projects or donations are selected for funding.
In addition to donations, the Company also believes that it should encourage community involvement, volunteering and charitable giving amongst it employees and will endorse this belief with an annual PharmaNet Development Group Social Awareness Award for employees. The Companies corporate giving program focuses its efforts on health but may include anti-poverty, education, the arts, environmental conservation and community development initiatives.
A budget is approved annually by PharmaNet Development Group executive management for corporate giving activities. The Corporate Giving Committee comprised of designated members of senior management and members of human resources, marketing and investor relations/corporate communications, will administer and allocate resources to projects and programs the selection criteria. PharmaNet Development Group will not support any organizations that are known to discriminate for reasons of race, religion, sexual orientation or gender. The Company will not make donations to organizations with a religious or political focus.
The Company’s Corporate Giving Program includes but is not limited to the following elements:
Employee volunteering
PharmaNet Development Group, Inc. supports its communities through an employee volunteer program. It also wants to encourage its employees to demonstrate socially responsible behavior in their personal lives. The Corporate Giving Committee may select certain programs in which employees can participate on a local and global basis.
PharmaNet Development Group Social Awareness Award
The Company will award one employee per year, who has best demonstrated the concepts of community awareness, charitable giving and volunteering, with a $5000 donation to the charity of his or her choice, within certain restrictions.
Charitable Donations
The company may make charitable contributions periodically that meet the Company’s selection criteria and are focused on health, the arts, anti-poverty, education, environmental conservation and community development initiatives. Donations may be monetary or in the form of professional services. The Company may allocate funds or match employee donations outside of
this policy on an emergency basis in the event of natural or other disaster.

In addition to classroom instruction, we offer e-learning modules and scheduled webinars led by professional instructors on a wide variety of topics ranging from good clinical practice and data management to professional development. Our training catalog contains hundreds of courses that are available to our employees online 24/7.
Because PharmaNet is a global company, we maintain a full-time training department producing dynamic learning materials, which are convenient to employees in all time zones. A learning management system allows employees easy access to the training catalogue and to their transcript.
Once you have taken the new employee orientation training, you’ll have the resources needed to move forward in your career. For example, if you’re in the clinical area, we have classes based on ICH GCP including managing essential documents, trial master file requirements, drug safety reporting requirements, ethics obligations, IRB/IEC, and project management, among many others. Data management classes focus on PharmaNet’s data systems, as well as on principles of data management, while professional development includes classes on management, supervision, mentoring, and leadership. Other departments provide specific training related to finance, IT, regulatory affairs, and other areas. English language lessons are also offered through an engaging online program.
